Dylan Sparks is going to her cheating ex-boyfriend's wedding. Why? She's the baker of their wedding cake. Dylan's bestie, Juls, is also the wedding planner. Who does that?? Personally, I'd only go to my ex-boyfriend's wedding because I laced the wedding cake with poison and wanted to be there to see him drop dead. But that's just me.
As set ups go for Dylan to meet her hero, Reese Carroll, I think that's a pretty lame one, but I was able to suspend disbelief and keep reading.
Dylan falls into Resse's lap as she's finding her seat at the wedding ceremony. There's an immediate attraction. During the reception, they have a sizzling quickie in the men's room. Of course, neither can stop thinking about the other, so when they meet again they agree to...
In Romancelandia, 'just sex' situations never stay that way...obviously.
I liked Reese. He was a hot, sexy accountant. Now that's something you don't see a lot of. Not only is Reese a sex god, capable of giving Dylan multiple orgasms in a single thrust, but he does romantic ish for Dylan that made her swoon and her assistant/gay bestie, Joey, jealous.
I liked Dylan for the most part, but I also wanted to smack her upside her head when she kept insisting that they weren't having a relationship even once it's obvious to everyone around them that she and Reese have moved far far beyond a fling. There's a teeny tiny element of Dylan thinking she's not "in Reese's league," but the author doesn't overdo it and I was thankful for that.
The story overall was sweet, chock full of sexy time and light-hearted fun with likable primary and secondary characters. Just what I needed at the time.
